FIRST CAPITAL BANK MARKS INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN’S BOOK DAY WITH DONATION OF FINANCIAL EDUCATION BOOKS

As part of the celebrations of International Children’s Book Day, observed annually on 2 April, First Capital Bank, in partnership with the Pronwana Association, carried out an initiative to donate financial education books to Marracuene Primary School in Maputo Province.

International Children’s Book Day aims to highlight the importance of reading in the development of children’s education, creativity and imagination, as well as to encourage early exposure to knowledge and a love of learning. It was within this context that First Capital Bank and the Pronwana Association once again joined efforts and donated approximately 1,500 financial education books, which were delivered to the school. This contribution helps strengthen teaching and learning support materials and promotes financial literacy from an early age.

The initiative is part of First Capital Bank’s ongoing commitment to education and, in particular, to the promotion of financial literacy, with the Bank having developed the publication “A minha primeira conta bancária” (“My First Bank Account”), aimed at raising awareness among younger generations about the importance of saving, responsible money management, and the development of healthy financial habits.

The handover ceremony took place on 2 April 2026 at Marracuene Primary School in Maputo Province, and was attended by Luísa Guiamba and Naomi Rocha, representing First Capital Bank; Alfredo José Balate, representing the Pronwana Association; and Gabriel Mabjaia, School Director, as well as teachers and students.

Through this initiative, First Capital Bank reinforces its commitment to impactful social initiatives, actively contributing to the promotion of education and financial literacy within communities.
