Learn MoreFirst Capital Bank was present last Saturday at the 2nd edition of Beach Polo Mozambique, an annual equestrian event organized by Playground, where it reaffirmed its commitment to sport, tourism and the promotion of Mozambique’s image.
As Main Sponsor, the Bank contributed to transforming Maputo Bay into a vibrant setting, combining competition, culture and community engagement. This year’s edition brought together more than 1,500 visitors, including guests, partners, athletes and members of the public, demonstrating the growing interest in the sport and the potential of such initiatives to boost the local economy.
The welcoming atmosphere and the natural setting of Costa do Sol offered attendees a unique experience during the tournament, which featured athletes from Angola, South Africa and Egypt, reinforcing the international character of the competition. On a specially adapted 50 by 20 metre field, three teams competed in intense matches played in a round-robin format, with the First Capital Bank team emerging as the winner, standing out for its consistent performance.
The Bank also had the opportunity to engage with clients and partners, strengthening its proximity to the market and highlighting its range of products and services tailored to the corporate segment. During the event, a charity art auction was held featuring works by visual artist Sebastião Coana, with 75% of the proceeds going towards vulnerable children and community projects, underlining the social and human dimension of Beach Polo Mozambique 2025.
Miguel Proença, Managing Director of Playground, stated: “Beach Polo Mozambique is more than a sporting showcase. It is a celebration that brings together creativity, sport, tourism and the natural elegance of our coastline, showing what Maputo can offer the world.”
