The event made use of nine courts and featured a total of 126 matches over two days of intense competition.<\/p>\n<p>The inaugural edition attracted 70 teams competing across five men&#8217;s categories (M1, M2, M3, M4, and M5) and three women&#8217;s categories (F1, F2, and F3), reflecting the continued growth of padel in Mozambique and the increasing enthusiasm surrounding the sport.<\/p>\n<p>The tournament was characterized by a high level of competition, mutual respect among the athletes, and strong engagement from the local padel community, bringing together players, families, friends, and supporters in a vibrant and dynamic atmosphere.<\/p>\n<p>Jo\u00e3o Rodrigues, Chief Executive Officer of First Capital Bank, highlighted the significance of the initiative: &#8220;When we launched this competition, we believed there was an opportunity to create something special for the padel community in Mozambique. The success of this inaugural edition confirms that we achieved that objective. Beyond the numbers, what stands out is the quality of the competition, the enthusiasm of the participants, and the spirit of unity that defined these two days.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Speaking about the values associated with the sport, Jo\u00e3o Rodrigues added: &#8220;Padel is a sport built on partnership, trust, communication, and teamwork. These are the very same principles that guide the way we work with our customers and partners every day.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The closing ceremony concluded with the presentation of prizes to the winners of all eight competition categories, as well as the presentation of the Rising Stars Award to a pair from the M5 category, recognizing emerging talent and the promising future of the sport in Mozambique. The awards were presented by Jo\u00e3o Rodrigues, Chief Executive Officer of First Capital Bank, and Krishnah Rameschandra, Director of Business Banking and Retail.
